I was really unhappy staying here. The room felt badly neglected, and I’ve never seen one like it in Ubud. When I turned on the shower, dusty water came out. The bed linen smelled, so I changed it and left the old set outside, but it stayed there until I asked someone to take it away. I had to request basic things like water, electricity, and cleaning, as if they’d all been stopped. If that kind of thing doesn’t bother you, maybe it’s fine, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The room wouldn’t lock properly, the fan didn’t work, and the washroom had no water or hand soap. It was also unclean. The kitchen stayed closed until at least 7 a.m.; I had to leave before then, so I couldn’t even get water that morning. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

The name fits this lovely place. Ubud Asri Home Stay has a calm, cool atmosphere, and the renovated rooms are clean.

Getting in at night was stressful: I called the WhatsApp number several times to check whether the room was ready, but nobody answered, so I had to search around. The room itself was nothing like the one advertised on Traveloka. It was stuffy and very dirty, with stained, smelly sheets, blanket, and pillows. It looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned for ages, and there were lots of ants on the bed.
