Ubud Tropical - Hostel

The capsule beds give you decent privacy and block out sound, and the place itself is a dream. But the mattresses and pillows weren’t very comfortable, and the loose sheets kept shifting around, which bothered me. There also needs to be somewhere to put backpacks, since they end up all over the floor. With so many guests, more sofas and garden chairs would help. Getting around isn’t easy without a bike or Grab, and the busy road outside makes lazy strolls less relaxing.

You’re only a few minutes from Ubud market, which is a great location. But the rooms are tiny, like wooden boxes, and I felt suffocated. The bathrooms weren’t very clean and there were lots of mosquitoes. They take cash only, with no card option at all, so bring enough with you. That’s a nuisance. I didn’t find it a great place to stay.

The mixed dorm was clean and roomy, and the bathrooms were fairly clean, though they could be better. Staff were welcoming and really friendly. It’s a quiet, pleasant place with a nice pool. A very good hostel.

The common spaces and rooms were clean, and the rooms had plenty of space. There’s a lovely infinity pool in a tropical setting, too. I left a couple of clothes behind, and the staff went out of their way to get them back to me. Easily my best stay in Bali. I’d recommend it and will stay here again when I’m back in Ubud.
