We came back for a second night after a few days of travelling, having first stayed here for one night. For the way we travel, it was perfect: quiet, budget-friendly, and a good base for getting around the island without wasting time in Bali traffic. Mostly you just hear nature :D It is a bit away from everything, so a scooter is useful, especially if you want to eat out. There are local padangs around if you rely on restaurants. There’s a swimming pool, but no breakfast.

We spent a week here and loved the place, especially the beautiful views and pool right in front of the room. The two guys managing the villas were really nice and checked each day if we wanted the room cleaned. They also kept the pool clean. It’s a little outside Ubud, but you can rent a scooter from them for 100k rupiah a day. The center takes 20-30 minutes to reach. I’d recommend it 100%.

We stayed six days in beautiful natural surroundings, but found the hotel quite far from everything. I’m not sure why it’s listed as 3 stars when it offers only basic rooms and scooter rentals. Booking.com showed breakfast at the property, but there wasn’t any. Our rooms were dark and small, with no windows, and there were occasional power shortages, which are common in Bali. We spent one night in a larger room with windows, but found a big cockroach in the bathroom, and the sink had a pipe instead of a tap. You really need a scooter to get around, and you can rent one at the hotel. Grab is another option, but Gojek didn’t work for us because drivers wouldn’t go that far. The staff are friendly. It could suit someone looking for a cheap room in nature, but I wouldn’t stay more than two nights.

I had a great stay when I first arrived in Bali and ended up extending by two nights. The host was accommodating and could help arrange tours or a scooter. The staff kept the area clean and would clean the room daily if you wanted. The pool was nice. I’ll come back. Thank you, Julius.

Nature lovers who want a peaceful retreat will appreciate the forest setting, immaculate grounds, and lovely clean pool. The cottages sit among nature, and everything outdoors is carefully maintained. There’s an open shared kitchen with a small eating area, kept spotless by staff, plus space to cook, make tea or coffee, and use a water dispenser. The bathroom is spacious, the shower has good pressure and plenty of hot water, and shampoo and shower gel are provided. But there’s nowhere to put toiletries by the sink, the mirror light is poor, and there’s no nearby socket, so drying and styling your hair without a mirror is quite a feat. The stairs are high, so it’s not suitable for wheelchairs or people with walking difficulties. The cottages are very basic for rooms called suites at the regular online price: a bed, table, small bedside table, and closet with a couple of hangers. No ornaments or bedside lights. We got a substantial discount, which made the stay reasonable, but at full price it would be poor value. The rooms smell of mold, too. The jungle is home to flying and crawling critters, so if those bother you, town may suit you better. It’s far from town, and you need transport. A scooter is a must, or you’ll face Ubud traffic if you call a Grab.
