Umah Dajane Guest House

I stayed six nights for BaliSpirit Fest and would highly recommend the place. The hosts were lovely, the hot showers were consistent, and I slept comfortably and quietly. The interior felt spacious and hotel-like 💕 The street was amazing for walking. The sausage at breakfast was yummy. I do wish there'd been more syrup on the pancake, and an Indonesian or Balinese breakfast option would be nice 🫶. A second mirror on the wall might help too. The only mirror, by the sink, was much too high for me at 5ft. I could only see my forehead when trying to dress up and do my makeup for the festival 🙈😢 I'll book here again ☺️

I really enjoyed my stay at Umah Dajane. The host and his family were warm and genuinely helpful. On my last day, he even rode with me on his motorcycle to the nearest bus stop. The location gave me a chance to experience everyday life in a Balinese community. I was there during Galungan and Kuningan celebration week, when the street was decorated with beautiful 'penjor', the long bamboo decorations for thanking their Gods and Goddesses. They weren't cheap, either. I liked that there was no TV in the room, and it was amusing to hear the neighboring children practicing their Balinese gongs for the festival.

The owners made us feel at home from the start, and the street is pretty and peaceful while still being just outside Ubud’s centre. Our room was spotless, with plenty of room for our things, and we had a lovely outdoor seating spot too. We had an amazing stay here and I’d happily recommend it.

The hosts were incredibly kind, and the family setting was wonderfully quiet. We also loved the delicious breakfasts and the rooms. This was my favourite place to stay in all of Asia. Highly, highly recommend. Thanks! :)
