Villa Esa Ubud

The garden and flowers made the villa feel private, and it was so quiet. We loved everything. The little villa suited two of us well, with a comfortable bed, a pool, and a sunny spot for the loungers. Everything worked, and there was cheap parking nearby. The owner was incredibly friendly and available if we needed anything, including arranging massages. Breakfast was prepared each morning and was really good. There are lots of restaurants and rice walks within walking distance. We highly recommend it. Thank youuuuuu!

Villa 2 at Villa Esa gave us a quiet break from the busy center during our two nights in Ubud. It took a bit of effort to find at first because Google Maps sent us on foot to the back entrance. The two-bedroom layout has a pool and living area in the middle, and the pool was a refreshing place to cool off in the midday heat. The host was easy to reach, and they brought us a very good Indonesian breakfast. WhatsApp made it simple to stay in touch. They also pointed us to a great market for cendol, a sweet boba-like drink, which we really appreciated.

The hosts were incredible, and breakfast was delicious. Restaurants, yoga, and massage are close by, yet the place sits on a quiet street and still feels tucked away. Amazing place.

We only stayed one day with family, and it felt far too short. Villa Esa would work especially well for two couples, and I'd definitely return for longer. The small pool was very clean and relaxing, though not really big enough for a proper swim. In the evening the whole villa looks beautiful lit up, and from the moment you walk in it has a peaceful, relaxing feel. The two bedrooms, living and dining area, kitchenette, balcony, poolside loungers, and sofa all surround the pool. The place is thoughtfully designed and very well maintained. We had toiletries, swimming towels, lockers, and AC in the bedrooms, plus a pedestal fan and TV in the living area. The kitchenette had utensils, a water dispenser, and a gas burner, and the WiFi worked great. Mr. Komang and his wife were warm, courteous, and hospitable, and tried hard to meet our requests. Breakfast has a set menu that you need to order a day ahead. We are Indian vegetarians who don't eat eggs, fish, or meat, so they made our chosen Nasi Goreng to suit us, and it was absolutely delicious. Since the villa is a bit deep in the area where cars can't go, Mr. Komang explained the route clearly and helped carry our luggage to the main road. The villa is tucked off Jl. Penestanan, with the entrance through Gajah Biru Parking Area. It's a peaceful, safe area with some nightlife, and plenty of cafes nearby. You can rent scooters from several shops along the path where it joins the street. One thing to know: the taxi union at Gajah Biru Parking Area charges IDR 5k for pickup or drop-off inside the lot if you come or leave by Grab or Gojek.
