The staff were friendly, but when I raised problems, they weren't so friendly. The pool was dirty and unusable, the manager was impossible to track down, and reception just offered excuses. The rooms looked tired and dirty, the internet was dire, and the A/C wasn't powerful enough. I've spent six weeks in Bali and stayed at more than ten hotels, from $20 to $150 a night. This was the worst overall. It's unusual to find a really shabby hotel in Bali, but this one had that feel, including the staff attitude. There were lots of little issues I shouldn't have had to put up with. For an extra $10 a night, there's so much choice and so much better out there. I regret not doing that. Thankfully, I paid for only one night and can move to a proper hotel tomorrow. Maybe a lot has changed since the last Google review three years ago. I'm amazed it ranks so well on Agoda, and can't figure it out.

A calm, cozy, nice hotel. I loved being here with my children. The pools were nice, breakfast was delicious, and all the staff were helpful and friendly. We'll stay here again on our next holiday.

The staff were friendly and the restaurant food was yummy, but the music noise at night is what shaped my rating. I was told it'd be turned off around 9:30 pm, but it kept going until 11 or 11:30, maybe even later. That made the place less peaceful than I'd expected, especially since it's meant to be a co-working space.

The food is a good mix of Indonesian and Western dishes, and the prices are very reasonable. I also think the accommodation is good value and well located: the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary is just a three-minute walk away, and Ubud center is about 15 minutes on foot.

I ordered gado-gado, my usual Balinese choice. It's a vegetarian classic with steamed vegetables, tempeh, tofu, and peanut sauce. This version was delicious and beautifully presented, with vegetables tucked into steamed cabbage leaves and quartered boiled eggs, sautéed tofu, and tempeh arranged around them. Gado-gado is always a bit of an adventure since each place often serves a grandmother's own take on the classic. The restaurant sits between the street on one side and a beautiful garden with a gurgling fountain on the other. It's in a good location in the heart of NK.
