Widi Villas

The rooms were spotless, and the little garden and family temple give Widi's place a lot of charm. He’s a warm local host too, with useful suggestions for exploring around Ubud. I’d happily recommend this guesthouse.

I came back here after my trip to the Gili Islands because I liked it so much. It’s close to Ubud’s centre but still peaceful, and Widi and his lovely family were always ready to help. If you can, get the room with the daybed on the terrace, it’s amazing. Thanks to Widi and family. I’d love to return.

The room was surprisingly spacious and felt practically new, and the price and service are hard to beat. The place was tricky to spot because there wasn’t a sign yet, but Widi came out as soon as I called and helped with my luggage. He arranged a comfortable Mt Batur trek shuttle through his brother’s tour company at a good price, and the local restaurants he suggested were tasty and affordable. I was on a tight backpacker budget when I asked to stay longer, and he gave me a rate of 150k per night. His family was lovely too. One day his mother saw me caught in heavy rain, stopped me, and brought over a sweet flower-patterned umbrella even though she couldn’t speak English. I hope Widi’s new business does really well, he deserves it.

Widi and Jero were such warm, welcoming hosts. The place is near town and very affordable. I’d stay again!
