We had breakfast on our balcony each day, and the pancakes with local tea were the best choice. The service was really friendly, and the room was roomy, clean, and stayed fresh without AC. There are two friendly dogs on the property. It’s about five minutes by car or motorbike from central Ubud, far enough out to be quiet and hear nature at night. The grounds and rooms could use a little upkeep, and the Wi-Fi was okay but sometimes slow.

We didn’t stay at the property, so I can’t say anything about the rooms. I do want to thank the owner, who found my phone by the roadside and did all he could to return it. He wouldn’t accept any money. That was incredibly kind.

I’d stayed here four or five times in 2019 and trusted the standards I’d experienced then, but this visit changed that. I booked two rooms through Agoda two days ahead, paid in full, and got a confirmation. After travelling two and a half hours to Ubud, I received an email around ten minutes before arrival, at about 5 PM, saying the hotel was full and my reservation had been cancelled. Agoda still showed the booking as active. The manager only repeated that nothing could be done. While we were leaving, I saw a few guests quietly asking staff whether their rooms were ready. It seemed to me the hotel may have given my room to someone else, perhaps people extending their stay. I also didn’t see the manager I knew from 2019. Maybe the management has changed a lot, and it no longer has the reliability I used to count on. After a long trip, being left to search for somewhere else to stay was deeply frustrating. I’d advise looking elsewhere.

This family-owned property is in a calm spot away from crowds, commotion, and noise. The owner is kind, and breakfast can be made on request. You can expect a warm welcome from the family around the grounds. It was a little hard to locate at first because there wasn’t a clear sign when I stayed, and I heard other visitors mention the same problem. The map pin did point to the right place, though, so it wasn’t a major issue. I took a few photos to help others find it.
