Palm Leaf Villa

We had to leave notes asking for toilet paper, towels, soap, and other room needs, and the sheets were never changed. We also had to ask for towels and for the room to be cleaned. On our last morning, no one came to meet us for the dawn checkout, despite our warning them. We left the keys at the counter and went. If we hadn’t remembered to pay the day before, we wouldn’t have had a chance to do it. The doors were loose and wouldn’t shut properly. The facilities seemed abandoned. Bathroom wall handles were loose, paint was peeling, the pool steps were green and needed cleaning, and there were lots of ants in the room. The day we arrived, the staff member was asleep in a little room by reception, so we had to wake her. Staff were essentially absent. They didn’t speak English, and even with a live Indonesian translator on the phone, they couldn’t understand us. We made the mistake of ordering breakfast on the first day. It was the most unpleasant one we’d seen, with coffee spilled over the plate and dirty cups. When we complained about its condition, they laughed in front of us, which was simply shameful. The WiFi never worked, then disappeared at the end of the day, so we assumed it was being switched off. Four days later, when we left, the breakfast dishes from that first morning were still under the reception desk, unwashed and covered in ants. I’m posting photos of everything I described so other travelers can avoid this place.

Unit #1 is perfect now. New owners have taken over, renovated it, and furnished it with modern pieces. It used to be run as a low-class hotel. I loved staying here.

This was a really disappointing first for me. The bed was dirty, there were lots of mosquitoes, and the bathroom was very old. We were the only guests then, and two other villas were being repaired. We moved out the same day because we couldn’t enjoy our stay and weren’t comfortable. It’s far from everything, and online transport isn’t allowed.

Great atmosphere and a great price. The villa is in a really strategic spot, close to the beach, restaurants, and just a one-minute walk from an ATM and a 24-hour mini market.
