The biggest problem for me was the noise at night. Calls to prayer could go on for hours, and sunrise came as early as 3-4 am during our stay. There seemed to be a mosque next door or very close by, plus a whole army of roosters across the field. They were so loud that I once thought they were loose under our bathroom. With my awful jet lag, the noise wrecked my sleep for the first week in Asia. I've bought earplugs since, though I'm not sure they'll be enough. If the soundproofing were improved, I'd probably stay again because the rest was wonderful. There was plenty to like: the staff were lovely, breakfast both mornings was great, and they arranged a driver for an extra cost to pick us up from a very distant town and take us to Yogyakarta. The driver was fantastic too, and everyone kept in touch really well. Our room was spacious and lovely, with an eco-lodge feel. We could order food through Grab and arrange pickups nearby. It's a beautiful spot, and the pool looked like a nice extra even though we didn't use it. When we arrived, a monsoon-like storm sent water through the drainage channels like little rivers. We were both fascinated by it.
