Airy Mergangsan Prawirotaman Satu 10 Yogyakarta

The room was spacious and fairly clean, and the hotel's easy to find, near Tempo Gelato with an ATM outside. The bathroom was mostly clean, but its ceiling was a little rotten and the door was broken. I also had an unpleasant encounter with an animal in the bathroom while checking in. The bed was soft, and snacks and drinks were provided. Toiletries included soap and shampoo, but no toothbrush or toothpaste. The TV was small, while the AC was cold and the warm water worked fine. There's a fairly clean pool, though it's not very big. For the price, the facilities are adequate and affordable. WiFi was a bit slow but usable. The sheets smelled a little musty, and the blanket was small, barely enough for two people.

The room they first assigned us was awful and looked nothing like the photos online. We complained and were eventually moved to a better one. Then, the next morning, staff asked us to go back to the original room, saying the room we were in cost a different amount, even though the hotel itself had put us there. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!

The staff were friendly, the pool was fairly clean, and the rooms were reasonably spacious. The location in Prawirotaman is lively at night, and there’s an ATM right outside. I booked through Airy at a low price, with an extra Google Perks discount, and I use Airy often. Compared with its other Yogyakarta hotels, though, this one falls short. The room smelled musty, the mattress was hard, and the linens looked dirty. There was only one towel, the Wi-Fi was slow, and the AC and TV remotes were broken, so they could only switch the appliances on and off. Airy usually has white sheets and blue pillows, which weren’t provided here. I’m pretty critical of Airy because partner hotels are inspected regularly, and this place undermines those standards. 😓

We arrived around 11 PM, tired and with a small child, expecting to rest at the hotel. Instead, the room I’d booked well in advance for July 13, 2019 was already occupied. We had booked two rooms for one night through Airy on July 8. The man at reception didn’t seem very friendly and asked us several questions, which we answered. In the end, he said, “sorry, we got through,” and sent us to another hotel even farther away. 😭
