Hotel FortunaGrande Malioboro Yogyakarta

The pool was the favorite part for our baby. It's not very large, but it has plenty of life, and the koi pond is lovely too. You can feed the fish. We also appreciated the kids' cooking lesson, which our baby loved, though I think it may have been a one-off, so check with reception. The restaurants all served great food, with especially nice service at the Chinese restaurant and El Patio. Our clean room had plenty of space, and housekeeping did a great job. The daily turn-down service came in handy with a baby making a mess. Breakfast had lots of choices, and club access was a real plus. Honestly, this is the best hotel we've found at this price.

We had a pleasant night at Melia Purosani, and the location was very convenient. The staff were professional and friendly. Our connecting family room was roomy and comfortable, and clean too. Breakfast was fine, though I'd have liked more variety. I forgot to take a picture.

We were grateful for how the hotel helped when our transport plans went wrong. We'd booked an 8-hour Grab rental to visit Sendang Sono and Kedai Bukit Rhema before heading to the Marriott, but the app malfunctioned. A staff member stayed with us, suggested the Bluebird app, then helped us negotiate with a Bluebird driver waiting at the hotel. The Concierge team helped too, and we were able to continue our itinerary safely. Her support was invaluable, and we'll gladly recommend Melia Purosani to friends and family visiting Yogyakarta. She had also helped us at check-in on the 15th and was there again when we checked out after breakfast on the 17th. Our stay was February 15-17, and the anniversary cake and room decorations for my parents made their celebration special. We enjoyed the relaxing afternoon tea, although evening cocktails weren't available in the lounge while we were there. The laundry service was impressively fast and efficient. Thank you to her and the whole team for a memorable visit.

Awan, the customer experience manager, and his team deserve a special thank you. The staff at Melia were kind and respectful, always ready to help and willing to go out of their way to make our stay special. I travel often, and their customer service really stood out. We planned four nights but stayed six because we loved both Yogyakarta and the hotel so much. It gives you a green, peaceful pocket in the city, close to the busy Beringharo market and JL Malioboro streets. Our spacious room looked over the gardens around the pool, and the huge bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was good, though the shower felt a bit cramped. Access to the Level meant we could enjoy snacks and afternoon tea, chat with other guests in an intimate setting, and watch the sunset. Breakfast in the main restaurant had excellent variety and quality, with outdoor seating overlooking the garden and Koi ponds. Indonesian specialties were especially good, and there were several stations cooking food to order. The staff even made me eggs with hollandaise sauce when I asked. I'll definitely return to Yogyakarta, and I know where I'll stay.
