The place is tucked away, but it’s clean and comfortable. The alley can only be reached by motorbike, so cars can’t get in. That’s the one downside. Otherwise it feels safe, and I definitely recommend it if you want to stay around Malioboro in Jogja.

I heard about this inn on tiktok and booked ahead for a weekend in December, since it was likely to fill up. Malio Inn is an easy walk from Malioboro. There are signs from the main road, then go a little farther past et malio and turn right. The mother was really friendly, the place was clean, and the sheets and blankets smelled fresh. Motorbikes can come inside, and the AC gets cold. The shower had a problem, but when I told the father, he responded right away and fixed it. I’d happily stay here again next time I’m in Jogja, God willing. Thanks, Malio Inn :)

The power went out at 9:30 PM while people were resting, and everything was dark, hot, and stuffy. I’d never had a power cut during a guesthouse stay before. The homestay should have had a generator.

The location is understandable, tucked into a narrow alley, but the room was tiny, about 3x3. The bathroom smelled awful and had a sticky floor. There wasn’t even a TV, and the room didn’t match the Agoda description at all. For 270, how do other hotels offer such good facilities?

The owner is very friendly and looks after the guests, and the place is comfortable. If I return to Jogja, I’ll definitely stay here again.
