Palace hotel is a good pick at an economical price, especially if you're traveling. It's close to both Malioboro and Yogyakarta Station, and local snacks are easy to find around the area. The room was fairly comfortable, the AC worked well, and the hot water was reliable. The breakfast menu was appealing too.

We had a family room and thought it was great value. It was clean and tidy, and the AC, TV, and hot water shower all worked well. The staff were super nice and friendly. The hotel is very, very close to malioboro street, which mattered a lot to my family, and there were lots of food stalls outside at night. Breakfast tasted great, but there weren't many choices, so they could add more options. We stayed two days and didn't get room cleaning service. There was no kettle in the room either. Still, the price is great for what you get, and we'd love to come back next time.

The online pictures on Traveloka gave me very low expectations, but in person the hotel was actually really nice. They should update those photos. The staff were friendly, caring, and kind, too.

For people looking for an affordable stay, this is a nice hotel right in the middle of Malioboro, around 10-20 meters from the street. I booked for about 350.000 rupiahs, though prices can change with the season. The building has five floors and breakfast is included. An extra bed costs 125.000 rupiahs, but it doesn't come with a blanket. In the room there was no cupboard, just a desk and a set of hangers.

It's an older hotel, but the Malioboro location is really convenient and makes it easy to walk along the street. In my room, the bathroom door wouldn't lock, and there was no phone to call reception, which made it a bit hard to reach them. Hopefully they'll fix those things.
