The building’s a bit old, but still has its charm. We had a pleasant, fun stay for two nights, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s just a 10-minute walk to the Malioboro area. Breakfast was a lovely surprise, especially the gudeg and jenang. We loved the jenang sumsum with its rich brown sugar. Thanks, Prima In. We’ll be back.

The property itself was clean, tidy, and well maintained, and we enjoyed the pool. But we stayed as a family with two children, and the customer service left a very bad impression. Before arriving, I asked for an extra mattress for one child. At other hotels we’ve paid around 100-150k IDR per night, but here they asked 250k per night, or 350K with breakfast. That fee wasn’t mentioned during the Booking reservation process. After a long discussion at check-in, they reluctantly lowered it to 180k, still unreasonably high for a mattress and towel in a small room. The room was small, the air conditioning didn’t work properly, and the TV apps like YouTube weren’t accessible, which frustrated the kids. The property feels upscale, but the staff were unhelpful and inflexible, and it felt like they were trying to take advantage of guests. I can’t recommend it given how poorly customers are treated.

The breakfast was a highlight, delicious, nicely presented, and with plenty of variety. My stay at Prima In was a great one, and the service was excellent, quick, responsive, and genuinely warm. 🖤

The location is fairly convenient, close to the station and only a few minutes’ walk from the Malioboro tourist area. The hotel staff were excellent, though I can’t say the same about the restaurant staff: I ordered one breakfast dish and waited half an hour, but it never arrived. The deluxe room was spacious enough and comfortable, even though it and the hotel look old. The bathroom has no shower curtain, and the hot water smelled strange at first. The TV had a few streaming services like Netflix and Prime Video, but the poor internet made watching them difficult. It wasn’t a bad stay, but it wasn’t the best either.

The room was comfortable enough, despite water stains on the toilet surfaces and a few marks on the bedsheets and wall. The location is great: three minutes from the train station, beside a convenience store, and a 10-minute walk to the main Malioboro shopping street. There’s plenty of delicious street food along the way.
