There’s a tasty soto stall, Pak Sholeh, right across from the hotel. We stayed here for the Yogyarockarta Festival at Kridosono Stadium, which is about a five minute walk away. The staff were really friendly, and the place has an old-fashioned, homey feel. It wasn’t especially clean, though it wasn’t dirty either, and it worked well enough for us while we were in town for the festival. Our room, number 6A, had AC and its own bathroom. They also provide coffee and tea, plus a water dispenser, so getting a drink was easy.

You can wander around for plenty of well-known local food nearby, including lots of street food. The location is handy for both Lempuyangan train station and Kridosono Stadium. For a local guest house, it was better than I expected. The room and bathroom were clean, and there’s free coffee or tea outside the rooms.

The location is strategic, and this old colonial house could be a real asset with proper management and upkeep. As it is, the room is old, the bathroom smells bad, and the towel was so poor it wouldn’t absorb water. What a pity.

There’s very little access to power outlets, and the fast Wi-Fi only works around the front desk. Still, the cleanliness, facilities, price, and room size made a big impression. They even have a huge room for four people. Big wow.

The room was roomy, clean, and comfortable, and the price was cheap. I was very satisfied with this guest house and would recommend it. There’s also hot water in the bathroom.
