Achill Cliff House Hotel & Restaurant

We had a great three-day stay and would gladly come back to Achill Cliff House. The dining room stood out, with a huge menu and an especially tempting range of seafood. Everything we ate was excellent in both quality and presentation, including breakfast. Our room, number 5, was clean and roomy, with a TV and the usual comforts. The welcome was warm, service was brilliant, and the towels and beds were taken care of each day.

Every dish at dinner was excellent. There were five of us, and we each chose something different. We’d recommend booking ahead if you’re coming to eat, even if you’re not staying at the hotel. We’d booked for six originally, but when one guest couldn’t come, the Owner was incredibly accommodating. We had a great weekend on the island, and the Achilles Cliff House Hotel added a lot to it.

The food was excellent throughout our five-night visit. I especially liked being able to order a half-bottle of red or white wine, which went nicely with a good pint of Guinness. The hotel is well placed for Keel beach, the main tourist centre, and its attractions and amenities. Our room was comfortable and cleaned every day, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. They gave us lots of useful ideas for things to do on the Island. A larger TV mounted on the wall might be worth considering.

We stopped in for dinner and everything was fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. There was lots to choose from, including plenty of fish, and the portions were generous enough that we cleared our plates. The friendly welcome and lovely views made it feel like a real treat, and the price was very fair for the quality. It gets busy, so booking seems like a good idea. Can't wait to come back in the summer.
