The Lakeside Hotel & Leisure Centre

The waterfront room was fabulous, very clean, and had a lovely view. Everyone at the hotel was so nice. Margie, I think that was her name, was very welcoming at reception and explained everything when we checked in. Faye was helpful and attentive when we ate at the bar. I didn’t meet the housekeeping staff, but they clearly do an excellent job. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back.

We spent a family weekend at the Lakeside Hotel in Killaloe for my mother-in-law’s 70th birthday, and the pool slide was a big hit with the kids. The setting was beautiful, with gorgeous lake views, and the relaxed atmosphere and facilities made it a lovely place for a celebration. Staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive from check-in through checkout. We ate all our meals at the hotel, and the food was consistently delicious, with good variety and quality. We left with lovely memories and would recommend it for a special family stay.

The views are beautiful, and walking around the area was one of the best parts of our stay. It felt peaceful and uplifting. We first stayed here last year, and came back this year because we’d been so impressed. It’s rare to return somewhere and feel just as satisfied, but this hotel did it again. Many of the staff were the same as last year, which made the place feel familiar and welcoming. Everyone we met was warm, professional and clearly cared about doing their job well. Our room was spotless, the bed was exceptionally comfortable, and housekeeping did a thorough job. The coffee station was a little old-fashioned, but had everything we needed. Leisure facilities were kept in great shape too. The pool area was clean and regularly maintained, the lifeguard was attentive, and the gym was surprisingly spacious and well equipped for a hotel. We enjoyed the sauna and steam room, and the cold plunge was a great addition. Breakfast suited both adults and children, with friendly staff and plenty of choice. We appreciated having gluten-free and vegetarian options. At dinner, a vegetarian menu was available on request, with a good range of dishes, which made things easier for a family with different dietary preferences. The food was very good overall, with a varied, tasty menu. On busier evenings there could be a bit of a wait, but staff came over to explain the delay, and we appreciated that. We’re already looking forward to coming back.

We had a wonderful family stay, and the staff were attentive, friendly and professional throughout. Mr. Rehman and his team deserve a special thank you for the warm welcome and excellent service each morning. They made starting the day a pleasure. I’d happily recommend the hotel and hope to return.
