That dessert trolley was impossible to resist, even though we were already nearly full. Everything we ate was divine, and they brought out breads and spreads while we waited for the starters, a lovely touch. Service was prompt, with no long gaps between courses. There was a great atmosphere too, and a friendly piano player kept us entertained. By far the nicest place we’ve eaten in Ballyb. We can’t wait to go back to Strollers.

We keep coming back because evenings here are always relaxed and friendly. The piano in the dining lounge makes the atmosphere fun, and the coffee is superb. Chef Stephen is consistent with the flavours, presentation and taste, and the wine list is excellent and reasonably priced. The Brock family and staff are kind, attentive, friendly and professional, making dinner feel like a mini break. There’s a small, well stocked bar and a comfortable setting. The rooms are all en suite, with amenities, and the hotel is two minutes from the golf club and a mile from town. The food tastes excellent and is presented beautifully.

The owners were really nice and arranged a taxi to take us back to our B&B. We stayed a little longer to hear some live music after a fantastic meal. The marinated chicken was delicious.

The family who run this hotel are kind, personable and excellent hosts. It’s right beside the golf course, and I’d highly recommend staying here if you’re playing Bally.
