The highlight for us was Karim Habib, the house manager. He was so friendly and helpful, and made us feel special. I hope he gets to see this review. We stayed at Hunter's Yard, and Mount Juliet Estate is in a beautiful area. We loved walking around the grounds at sunset, and breakfast was excellent. We were disappointed about the hot tub, though. After hiking, we were sore and tired, and had mentioned at check-in that we were looking forward to using it. We arrived fairly late, but the woman checking us in didn’t tell us the hours, so it was just closing when we got there. Since we were only staying one night, it would have helped a lot to know when it closed. When we later passed her desk in our robes and said we were disappointed, she didn’t respond. I hope staff take note, as I’m sure other tired travelers look forward to it too.

The property grounds are fantastic, with gardens, trails, equestrian facilities, and a prime golf setting. Staff were friendly and efficient, and the restaurant food was very good, though pricey. The coffee, on the other hand, was undrinkable. The guest room let the place down. It was spacious, but three to four stars at best, with lackluster furnishings and amenities. The shower splashed water all over the bathroom floor, and there was no way to prevent it. They also left a note thanking me for celebrating my birthday at the hotel, but my birthday wasn't anywhere near then.

Dinner at the Hound and breakfast in the Manor House were both outstanding. We had a very relaxing stay in the newly refurbished Manor House, and Jimmy and his team gave us a warm welcome. The rooms look stunning, and we enjoyed a lovely walk around the resort. We can’t wait to come back.

The staff at Mount Juliet Estates were wonderful throughout our stay, and David especially helped us out by picking us up at the station. My wife and I took the Irish rail from Dublin, not realizing there was no transport from Thomasville station. It was around 9pm, cold, and there wasn’t a car in the lot. David saved us a walk that would have been no fun at all. Everyone went above and beyond to make the stay great. If you travel into Thomasville, arrange transport ahead of time, as I didn’t. The people there are such a friendly bunch. Thanks so much to David and all the staff!

I’m including a photo of the hairdryer because I couldn’t find any details about the type provided when I searched before traveling. It wasn’t the most powerful, but it did the job. The hotel itself is really lovely, with great staff and fabulous service.
