The Maritime Hotel

The rooms come in different sizes, with bay views that are amazing to wake up to. Downstairs, breakfast is a buffet with cooked and continental options, and the bar serves good, relaxed meals from lunch into the evening. There’s also a small gym with machines and free weights, plus a pool, steam room and sauna. It’s a lovely, clean hotel right in the centre of Bantry village. The staff are attentive, and I’d highly recommend staying here.

The bar staff were great, and breakfast was reasonable, though I found it mediocre overall. The breakfast sausages weren’t the right kind, in my view. It’s a large hotel and felt a bit stuffy. The rooms are rather dark and could do with some attention. The parking area needs repainting if the hotel is proud of it.

The function room looked beautiful for our wedding, and guests have since told us how much they enjoyed the food. The hotel itself is stunning, and the team on the day went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly for us and our guests. Aine was wonderful throughout the planning and made the whole process easy and stress-free. From our first meeting, she and the staff were helpful, handled every request with a smile, and paid attention to every detail. We couldn’t have hoped for a more special wedding at the Maritime Hotel. If you’re thinking of getting married here, go for it. You won’t regret it.

Both dinner and brunch at the bar were lovely, and the leisure centre was nice and stayed open late enough for me, until 9pm. The room was just right and reasonably priced for the location. Everyone on staff was friendly, professional and accommodating. I stayed at the Maritime for one night and would definitely return.
