The front room had really bad traffic noise, and the heating was off. We couldn't find anyone to help, so we had no fix and spent the night freezing. The heat was on by morning. Breakfast, an Irish fry-up, was okay. We paid €200 for one night for two people. That's a lot for what the place is, though I understand it was New Year's Eve, there was a wedding, and Country Arms Birr was fully booked. Still a shocking price, but, as they say, that's supply and demand. Ireland is expensive.

The owner waited up to meet us at midnight, even though reception closes at 10, and check-in went perfectly. There's parking too. We slept really well on the comfortable mattress, and in the morning enjoyed a wonderful breakfast in a pleasant atmosphere. Everything was clean, comfortable, and cozy. We were very happy with our stay and would gladly recommend the hotel.

A lovely, authentic B&B with great hosts. They also run a beautiful tapas restaurant next door, so you've got everything covered!

The garden was a wonderfully quiet place to relax, and our room was lovely. But being in a front room meant horrendous traffic noise. Our mates stayed at the back and said they had one of their best nights, so I gave it four stars anyway. Make sure you don't get a front room. Every pub and restaurant in town was closed Wednesday and Thursday, so we walked about a mile to a big hotel for a mediocre meal.

The owners were lovely and very helpful, and it's only a few minutes' walk from the main square. Our room was large, with high ceilings, and breakfast was nice: cereal, juice, and Irish breakfast in whatever quantity you prefer. Check where your room is, though. We were above the kitchen and restaurant, and the industrial freezer and dishwasher noise came from the area under the stairs at night. Then kitchen prep woke us much earlier than our alarm.
