Hey folks! You probably don't remember me. Back in February 2022, after that big storm, I secretly brought my cat into your hotel for one night. I was training her for our trip back to Portugal, which we made a month later. I'd asked the receptionist about bringing her, and he said it wasn't possible. I understood, but still managed to get Noelle into the room without anyone on staff noticing. We enjoyed our stay, and I cleaned everything so there was no sign a cat had been there. Once I'd settled in, the receptionist called. I panicked, thinking you'd caught me, but he was just letting me know my card had been declined, so I went downstairs to try another one. I felt sorry for the receptionist. He told me he was new and apologized for not allowing pets, and I said, "hey no worries." The next morning, another receptionist didn't even blink at my cat backpack. She clearly had no idea Noelle was with me. Thanks for the night, and I'm sorry I lied to you about it.

The central location and the friendly, helpful staff were good points. Parking is limited, on site and on the street. Breakfast was a standard continental offering, nothing special. The room felt old and poorly kept: my keycard and the main lights didn't work, nor did the TV or WiFi. The shower was dated, and the mattress was much too soft.

The room was spacious and had a modern TV, but that was about the only positive from my one-night stay. The furniture was badly worn and old, the toilet had a persistent bad smell, and the shower was visibly dirty. The bathroom trash hadn't been cleared from the previous guests, and there wasn't a bin in the room itself. When we asked for help with a taxi, we were handed a card and told, “try this, I guess.” We mentioned it was our anniversary, but got no acknowledgment or congratulations. Breakfast and coffee were disappointing too. For what it offers, the hotel feels overpriced. It needs a thorough renovation, cleaner rooms, and more attentive service. It might have potential with improvements, but as it is, I wouldn't recommend it.

The bedroom was spacious and warm, and the shower worked well. But breakfast was terrible: the croissants weren't fresh, and only one side of the toaster worked. The headboard was coming away from the wall 😫.

Really good value for the money, with a complimentary breakfast included as a nice surprise. The staff were friendly and helpful, everything was super clean and comfortable, and it's right on the main shopping road.
