A lovely B&B just beyond Clonakilty, with welcoming owners, big clean bedrooms, and a great breakfast. I’d highly recommend staying here 👍🏻

Nothing was too much trouble for the host. The rooms were clean and really comfortable, and breakfast was tasty, with homemade jam, marmalade, and bread. I highly recommend Ballard House.

The room was spacious and very clean, with restful beds, and the view across the small pasture to their gorgeous horses was lovely. Anne clearly puts a lot of passion and hard work into running Ballard House. I enjoyed chatting with her and hearing a more personal perspective.

A quiet horse farm just outside town, with wonderful views and large, comfortable rooms, including a king bed. The breakfast was outstanding, and the owner knows the region and Ireland through generations of experience. She trains champion Irish jumpers, too. One of the best hosts and B&Bs you could find along the Wild Atlantic, and a must-stop in west Cork.

The family were so kind during our stay, and you could see how much experience the woman had helping travellers and visitors from her service and local knowledge. It’s also one of the nearer B&Bs for events at the Dunmore House hotel, with a pleasant walk into Cork town centre. We’ll definitely stay again when we’re back in the area.
