Ryan's Hotel

We had such an unforgettable stay. Everyone was kind and accommodating, and when we were leaving, the manager even offered to put together a packed lunch for us. I'd give the hotel 10 stars if I could!

We had food in the bar on our first night and ended up with food poisoning. I wouldn't eat there again. In the restaurant, the seats seemed stuck to the floor, and it looked as though the cold breakfast food had been left out overnight. The smell of old grease was noticeable as soon as we reached any of the doors, and inside the hotel too. We could smell it in the room as well. Room 215 was freezing, with mold in the shower tray, on the shower door edges, and along the ceiling. The shower head was dirty, the main room ceiling had water damage in two places, and there were cobwebs everywhere. The carpet was dated, and there was no fire door. We asked to move rooms, and they did move us and gave us a portable heater. Room 218 was only a little better and still freezing, so we were glad to have the heater. It also had no fire door, and at night we could see the hall light under the door. There was plaster over the smoke detector, and the TV remote didn't work properly. Most of the staff were okay and friendly, but the woman in the bar seemed unwelcoming, as if she didn't want to be there.

A comfortable, well-run family hotel right in the village centre. The breakfast was very good too.

The staff were so welcoming and friendly, and the hotel has a lovely Irish atmosphere. I'd happily come back!
