The evening was meant to be an enjoyable occasion for my son's graduation at the hotel, but ended up being anything but. When we returned our key the next morning, nobody said anything or apologized for the disruption. We paid €250 for one night's stay. Dinner began nicely, with a lovely starter, but our main course came straight out before we were ready. We couldn't order a bottle of wine because the list was being updated, so we had to rely on a staff member's recommendations. The bigger problem was the brown hot tap water. My son reported it to reception, who said a tank had burst. Around 9 p.m., a manager and maintenance man knocked on our bedroom door and said they'd need to run the water and keep checking it through the evening. We couldn't relax or sleep, and they didn't finish until 11. The water was still brown the next morning, so we couldn't shower. It was very disappointing.

The staff were fab, especially in the breakfast hall, where they were chatty and singing along with the Cork accent. Breakfast had everything in one place and was nice, but get there early for the freshest hot food. We arrived late and it was hard and overcooked. For a short stay, I'd come again, though the room needs a serious uplift. It had old carpets, old TVs, leaking taps, and old shower heads. The central heating could have been on longer. It started off cold, so I wore a hoodie for half the night, and it was very cold again in the mornings. A cab to the city costs €12-14. Supermac's and a garage with snacks are each 800 m away.

From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming and made us feel at home. Naya at reception deserves a special mention. She went above and beyond with all our requests and made the stay memorable. Our family loved everything about Clayton Hotel Silver Springs. It was a genuine five-star experience!

This was my third stay here, and my family and I just love the hotel. The rooms are lovely and comfortable, and the staff are so friendly and kind. Whatever you need, they'll gladly help. We can't wait to come back soon xxx

The food was first class, and having table service for drinks was lovely. We held our mother's final send-off at Silver Springs, and everything went perfectly. Even when we had a traditional sing-song at the end of the day while others were eating in the restaurant, it wasn't a problem. Thanks to all the staff, who were so kind and made everything easy.
