The Reserve at Muckross Park

The spa was clean, and its booking system kept the numbers at a nice, intimate level. Breakfast was very good, with attentive service and lots of fresh-to-cook options alongside the continental buffet. We had a comfortable bed, a modern bathroom, and high ceilings. The TV looked small on the wall and could use an upgrade, ideally with smart TV casting. We stayed at The Europe the following night, but found Muckross much better value for money.

Goretti was a brilliant, friendly member of the wait staff and always made sure my group was looked after. There are several great dining options, and the food, drinks, and location are lovely. I'd call this a very solid four-star hotel, though it misses some of the little touches you'd expect of five stars. A receptionist told us one restaurant was closed that evening, but we saw it open when we went to the more casual one. The rooms are luxurious and the bed comfortable, though some soft furnishings need refreshing. Housekeeping knocking before 9:30 a.m. wasn't ideal while we were on a break.

The spa and treatments were lovely, and the staff were very helpful. Shad deserves a special mention for going above and beyond. My fiancée's birthday got off to an amazing start. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and will be back when the baby's born.

It's wonderfully cosy and comfortable, and the staff were warm, friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make the stay memorable. A fantastic place to unwind and feel relaxed.
