Aberdeen Lodge

The hosts made me feel welcome right away, and the cozy, clean rooms and peaceful atmosphere made it feel like home. The two lovely dogs and the sweetest cat added to that feeling. On my last day I felt unwell before my flight, and they offered me a late checkout at no extra charge so I could rest. I really appreciated that kind of care. I had a lovely stay at Aberdeen Lodge and would happily return.

We loved the bath, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast is à la carte, and the pancakes were the best I've ever had. The staff and host were lovely, with helpful tips on what to see and where to eat. One night, they even knocked late to ask whether we wanted a duvet because the weather was changing. We had a wonderful three-day stay at Aberdeen Lodge, and the nearby bus and train made it easy to explore beyond Dublin city.

We stayed three days and I honestly didn't want to leave. The owner's wife cooked, with lots of delicious options, and our server was kind and on top of everything. When we arrived, the owner welcomed us with coffee and cookies in the library while staff brought our bags to our rooms. He also explained the area, his favorite nearby spots, restaurants, and where to catch buses and trains, which were incredibly close. 10/10!

Breakfast was a highlight. I tried my way through the menu, and the porridge, granola, full Irish, and pancakes were all delicious. My top-floor room had a comfortable bed, daily room service, a hot shower, and excellent internet. I also enjoyed reading in the living room, and the dining room looked out over the garden, though I didn't get to visit it. Ann welcomed me warmly with her lovely dogs, tea, and shortbread while my suitcase was taken upstairs. Her briefing on transport and places around Sandymount and Dublin was invaluable, and when I left, I was given coffee while waiting for the rain to ease. Aberdeen Lodge is a quiet, scenic place near the beach, within walking distance of Sandymount and close to excellent city transport.
