Tallaght Cross Hotel

We spent two weeks here and found the hotel clean and secure, with decent rooms of an adequate size. The staff were awesome and went out of their way to make our stay better. Breakfast was very good too. There are excellent restaurants nearby, a grocery store across the street, and high end medical care in a neighboring building. A major shopping mall with a cinema is two blocks away, and there's a lovely park with 3 ponds a pleasant walk beyond the mall. The location is excellent. Highly recommend staying here.

Everything was spotless and fresh, and the food was tasty. From our booking call through to checkout, the service was excellent. The staff were really pleasant, helpful, and friendly. I'll definitely use the hotel again.

The only good part of our stay was how friendly the staff were. The rest was dreadful. We spent 4 days wearing our coats in the room because it was so cold. Staff said they could adjust the temperature from the office computer, but after I spoke to them several times, nothing changed. The kettle leaked. I was told a replacement would take 10 minutes, but it took 24hrs and I had to go back to reception the following day. Our room wasn't cleaned on the 3rd day, and I had to ask for towels, tea and milk. The self service breakfast was decent, but at the price, I'd rather have tea in a teapot than a disposable cup from a machine. I asked for a teapot each morning, and it took ages because so few staff were around. The lifts were slow too, especially when going to the garage. There was also an issue with some restaurant food. When I called, the manager spoke down to me, said it couldn't be anything to do with their food and recommended I see a doctor. She ended the call condescendingly with something like, 'look forward to seeing you again soon.' She seemed genuinely surprised when I declined. I'd go somewhere else.

The food was brilliant and the rooms spotless. My first visit couldn't have been better, from the service to the room. On my latest stay with my partner, we had to pay a deposit even though we paid by card. We hadn't been asked for one the first time, which left me disappointed. We also had to keep going to the bar to order food and drinks because the service wasn't as good as before. Even so, it's a great hotel for a weekend with a partner or a break with friends.
