Amberley House by The Key Collection

We arrived at Amberley house after a last-minute change from another place, and the helpful, friendly staff made us feel welcome. The location worked well for shops and central Dublin, while being far enough from the nighttime noise for a restful sleep. The airport bus stops just up the road, and the Luas is around the corner. Tourist attraction leaflets were available in the foyer. We had both a room and an apartment. The apartment was basic but had everything needed, including a lovely little kitchen for making meals. Both were clean and tidy, with a lovely comfortable bed and a sofa bed. There were the essentials for a stay away from home, plus tea, coffee, and biscuits. We’ll definitely book again.

The room looked really nice, and the coffee maker was good. But the bathroom ventilation didn’t seem to work, so the room stayed damp. Our breakfast bag was included, though it only had a croissant and jam, so we still had to go out to get breakfast.

I liked the room extras, including two bottles of mineral water, biscuits, and a machine with pods for making a hot drink. The room was comfortable and clean. Staff were very polite and helpful. I stayed one night on a business trip. The breakfast bag is a nice idea for anyone in a hurry, but given the room price, I’d have preferred the option of choosing a traditional breakfast buffet.

The staff and the hotel's proximity to sightseeing spots were the only things I liked. The walls are so thin you can hear everything next door, and the single-pane windows let in all the traffic noise from a busy, constantly travelled street. The plumbing sounds alarming enough to make you wonder if your room will collapse when someone flushes the toilet. There’s no elevator.
