The only things that let the room down were the tiny TV and small bathroom. It was comfortable and spacious otherwise, and the house is beautifully decorated, especially for Christmas. The Edwardian building has a lovely character, and the service was excellent from check-in through check-out. Rooms were serviced daily, and the full A Le carte breakfast, with all the trimmings, was included in a beautifully set dining room. Afternoon tea is available for an extra cost. It’s beside the train station, with a great little pub and service station across the road, though it’s a bit of a walk into town. There were slightly weird vibes from the owner, with pictures of him all over the walls and employees in old school maid outfits, but maybe that’s part of the experience. Enjoyed it all the same, and I’d recommend it for a unique BnB stay.

We had a lovely time in this absolutely beautiful place. It’s about five minutes from the train station and not too far from town, but it’s on a loud, busy road and the walls are thin. I could hear someone snoring in another room.

The owner Ronnie was extremely pleasant and accommodating. The house is very central, only a few minutes from the station, and I’d highly recommend it. Everything feels plush, from the silverware and crystal to the aquestrian portraits. My room was perfect, with a gorgeous large antique wardrobe, clean soft beds, and hardwood floors. I hadn’t expected an ensuite, so I was thrilled to find one. The shower was huge and looked brand new.
