Amber Berry

Amber berry is just a couple of minutes’ walk from salthill promenade and close to the city, so the location is incredible. I really enjoyed my stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, and my room was very clean with everything I needed: a large wardrobe, Netflix TV, hair dryer, ensuite bathroom, small fridge, and tea and coffee maker. I’ll definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place in Galway.

The location is good, but I wouldn’t recommend this unless someone was totally stuck. I didn’t feel very safe, with nobody around and people coming and going. My room had no radiator or other heat source apart from a tiny plug-in heater about the size of a toaster. The place smelled strongly of bleach. There were stacks of clean towels in the hallways and a hoover there too, which made it seem like residents lived here and used the supplies. It didn’t seem attended at all. I saw plates piled up in a side bedroom window and guessed this was some kind of hostel or temporary accommodation. I have no issue with that, but it’s not a B&B.

I booked direct and got a great rate. The room was fantastic, spacious, warm and clean, and I got an efficient, friendly welcome when I arrived. I didn’t choose breakfast, which is served at the sister guest house next door.

A lovely little gem, fresh and clean, with everything you need. The owners are very welcoming and dog friendly. It’s just up the road from Salthill, which my 2 year old loves.
