Ballynahinch Castle Hotel

We just stopped in for drinks and a snack, so I can't comment on the rooms. Both the staff and what we ate and drank were lovely. Someone we chatted with while in Galway suggested coming for lunch, and I'm glad we followed that up. The castle was beautiful too, and we enjoyed walking around for a while.

There was so much to take in, from the paintings to the rooms, and I wished we could have seen every one. A few days wouldn't be enough to experience all the different sides of the castle. It's beautifully preserved, authentic, and full of detail, the kind of place you don't want to leave. Both restaurants had a varied, generous choice of dishes, a real treat for anyone who loves food. The staff were attentive and fun to be around, which made us feel very comfortable. You could tell the visitors appreciated the atmosphere.

The grounds were beautiful, with lots to do. We tried the walks and sauna, and the cosy fireplaces made the whole place feel like home. The staff were kind and welcoming throughout. A special thanks to Gabriel, who answered our questions about activities and helped us extend our booking smoothly. We came for three nights on our honeymoon, loved it so much that we added another day, and ended up having our best stay in Ireland. The food was incredibly fresh. I've never had venison or oysters that good. We had dinner at the pub and owenmore, both were fantastic, and lunch at the pub and the terrace was very good too. Hope we can come back.

The trails and peaceful grounds were my favourite part, with lovely views all around. We spent a lot of time walking there. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms beautiful, and we enjoyed eating at the tavern and out the restaurant. Breakfast was a highlight and one of the best of our trip. We'd love to return during fishing season and take a guided hike.
