Eyre Square Townhouse

The internet was unusable, but everything else during our two-night stay was great. Our room was tucked in the back corner up one flight of stairs, and it was wonderfully quiet. There was no view, but we had the best night’s sleep of our two weeks in Ireland. It was also the only place where we had a mini fridge. Dyke Road Parking meters were bagged in the lot and on the street; we guessed they were switching to the app, which was easy enough to download and use. The big yellow door and street number make the place easy to find if you know what you’re looking for.

We fit all four adults comfortably in the clean, roomy room, which had all the amenities we needed. Check-in was straightforward, and the host gave us useful information. The location was wonderful. Definitely recommend!

Mary made us feel very welcome, and the service was friendly throughout. The room was spacious with a super-comfy bed. Eyre Square is just a minute away on foot, as are places like the Latin Quarter and Shop Street. We’d stay again.

I stayed at Eyre Square Townhouse on December 29 and 30, and it was extremely uncomfortable. The room never warmed up: the heating didn’t work at all, and I measured the temperature at 6°C. Then on the morning of December 31, there was no hot water, so I couldn’t shower before checking out. Having neither heat nor hot water in the middle of winter is appalling, and makes the property feel unfit to use in those months. Proper heating and hot water are basic requirements. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
