Imperial Hotel Galway

Step outside and Galway's beauty is right there, though the hotel is quiet for sleeping. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the restaurant is good, and the team and leadership are great. I had a small issue, nothing worth mentioning here, and the Hotel Manager responded personally right away and fully sorted it out. An exceptional hotel in the heart of Galway, in a fantastic location. You can't go wrong.

Room 120 was at the end of a corridor, and from 4:30 am people, staff or guests, kept slamming the doors to the rooms next to us. We finally got up at 8, having had enough. The reception ladies were lovely, helpful, and courteous. The Eastern European lady in the restaurant wasn't pleasant. There's no Guinness on tap, just Murphys or Beamish. The hotel is nice but shabby in places, including the bathroom bath panels and dado rails in the corridors. The food was only okay. My wife's seafood chowder came barely warm, and my chicken breast burger was bland, with too much onion seasoning in the batter. The side salad was basically half a handful of dry lettuce and a few tomato pieces. The chips were frozen, and Supermac's next door has tastier food for less.

The rooms were roomy and comfortable, with a good-sized bathroom, and breakfast was really tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. If you're arriving by car, Hynes car park is about a five-minute walk away. Reception can give you a discount ticket, bringing 24-hour parking down to €11. It’s a fantastic base in central Galway, and I’d happily recommend it for a visit to one of Ireland’s nicest cities.

We spent a few days in Galway with the family, and this location worked out perfectly. Everyone we dealt with was kind. Henrique at reception stood out, he was especially helpful and great fun to chat with.
