Winacre Lodge

The pub was our favourite, just a three-minute walk from the B&B. We had a great three-night stay at Winacre Lodge, with tasty breakfasts and a large, clean room. Phil and Martin were wonderful hosts. The location worked well too, close to the university, where we enjoyed a run along the river, near downtown, and on the way to the Connemara mountains.

We’ve stayed here twice now, and I can’t picture a trip back to Ireland without spending a few nights at Winacre Lodge. Phil and Martin are grand, the gardens are lovely, and both the place and food are beautiful. We’ve never enjoyed staying anywhere more.

My mom and I visited in October of 2022 and had a lovely time. The location made it easy to explore nearby areas, the room was comfortable, and the grounds are beautiful. Best of all, the hosts were so friendly and made us feel right at home. I work in Admin and helped them book flights to see their daughter. After that, we had a nip of wine and chatted by the fire. They were obliging and helpful, with suggestions for places to go. I’d definitely recommend it and would stay again if I’m back that way.

I stayed one night at Winacre Lodge for a wedding at the Glenlo Abbey hotel. I arrived early, but Phil had the room ready, so I could leave my bags and park there before walking the short distance to the wedding. Check-in was quick and easy, and the room was very large and clean. Breakfast was tasty, and the place had a friendly, homely feel. For the price and location, it was perfect. I’d recommend Winacre Lodge.
