The lounge and kitchen were welcoming spots to hang out and chat, and the location made it easy to reach the bus stations in about ten minutes on foot, with pubs and sights nearby. Staff were lovely, and the facilities seemed to get cleaned daily. The bathrooms are small, so smells linger a bit, though it wasn't too bad and they were clearly cleaned. My only real gripe was boys missing and not cleaning up after themselves, but that's a universal issue, not something the staff or hostel can be blamed for.

The social kitchen and lounge were great, and the whole place had a relaxed, friendly feel. We stayed in a clean family room with everything we needed. The staff were really helpful and friendly, even writing down their picks for bars and places to visit. It's ideally placed for Galway's main streets, and we'd happily book here again.

We had a lovely newly decorated private ensuite double room, and the staff were great. The hostel is right in central Galway, with pubs such as Róisín Dubh within walking distance, where we went to a gig. We stayed a couple of weeks ago and had an awesome time. We'll definitely come back... grá mór Gaillimh

The people were so sweet, and the place felt clean and cozy. There was always hot water for showers, plus a nice breakfast that was free. Loved staying here!

The room and bathrooms were filthy, and I seriously thought about sleeping in our car. There were no privacy curtains on the bunks, the other guests weren't friendly even when we tried to talk, and the whole atmosphere felt awful. In the bathroom, there was mold in the shower, a hole in the ceiling, and a terrible smell. When we entered room 12, the uncomfortable feel and condition of it hit us straight away. We were overwhelmed by a bad stench as soon as we arrived; check-in was okay, but we had to pass through the kitchen to reach the room and saw a man cooking in a pot that seemed to be the source. I've stayed in some questionable places, but this was easily the worst. The conditions and atmosphere were so unpleasant. The pictures online couldn't be further from the truth.
