Amanda made us feel so welcome, with freshly baked scones waiting when we arrived and a clean, warm, tidy space to settle into. During a weekend retreat last year, my two friends and I tried yoga, breathwork and pottery, then spent an afternoon at an equine centre where the horses were our therapy providers. It was a wonderful chance to relax and find some calm. The house sits in the middle of the lovely village of Glaslough, Co. Monaghan, close to good places to eat, including Ambledown Cottage and the Hunting Lodge at Castle Leslie. There are also lakeside walks and a historic building to admire. We had a great time, and I’d recommend the host, property, area and retreat package to anyone looking to recharge in beautiful surroundings and a warm, friendly atmosphere. It would also suit creative activities like writing, photography or art. I’m looking forward to visiting again...

The host Amanda was so helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Ramblers Rest is a cosy little house on Glaslough's main street, so we could walk wherever we needed to go. It had everything we needed and would suit a family of four or two couples. We stayed for two nights and it ticked all the boxes. I'd especially recommend it if you're going to a wedding at Castle Leslie. I'd definitely come back. Sue doherty

We had a fantastic weekend here with our newborn. The travel cot was already set up when we arrived, and the stay was really relaxed. The cottage had all the facilities we needed. There’s a lovely pub across the road, and Ambletown cottage is a must for pizza. Can't wait to visit again. 100% recommend!

The house was so clean, cosy and homely, with everything right on our doorstep. We had pizza at Ambledown cottage with BYO, drinks at the Corner house until late, and delicious food at Pichonos. Paddy hired us bikes and showed us local historic spots. We even went cold water swimming in emylough in February! Castle Leslie was only a two minute walk away, but we didn't make it there. Next time. Thanks, Amanda, you made everything perfect.

We had a wonderful week in the village over Easter 2025. The house was immaculate, had everything we could need, and felt like a home away from home. The beds were super comfortable, too. The location was perfect, and checking in and out was easy. Our host was very friendly and easy to reach if we needed anything. Can't wait to stay again 🥰 Thanks for having us and making us feel so welcome.
