The Brown Hen B&B

We were sorry to leave. It felt like home, and Gwyneth gave us a lovely warm welcome. We were there to look into some family ancestry, and the place was a great base for exploring Kinsale, the nearby beaches, and walking trails. It's a fabulous spot if you want to get away from it all. If you're in the area, stay here, and try both The Pink Elephant and Wild, two great nearby restaurants.

I'm not usually one to write reviews, but even two years later this place still stands out most from the five accommodations we used on our Ireland trip. It's remote, which adds to the charm, and the views all around are wonderful when you wake up. The room was tastefully decorated and had great amenities. We were served breakfast in our room, and when we arrived late in the evening, the hostess made us a dinner reservation at a good restaurant in a nearby town. Just keep in mind that Kinsale is a 15-20 minute drive away.

I stayed for several nights for work and ended up loving the peaceful farm setting, with its cows and hens. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable, and the separate entrance gave me a real sense of privacy. My room was well equipped with everything I needed, or would expect from a 5-star Hotel. It wasn't especially close to my workplace, but I liked the place so much that I didn't want to find somewhere nearer. I stayed with my mum, who had been here before, and my brother. Gwyneth's genuinely warm and friendly welcome made us feel at home right away. The rooms were scrupulously clean and comfortable, with luxurious furnishings, decor, and accessories. The peaceful country farm setting made it easy to relax, while still being an easy drive from the sights and attractions around this part of Cork. I highly recommend staying here for a peaceful break.
