Ardree House Bed & Breakfast

The location was great, and the shower had strong water pressure. The place was clean, and free coffee and tea were available. Still, my overall stay was just average. There are plenty of other B&Bs nearby, too. The room felt outdated, and the WiFi was slow. There were no signs outside, so it was easy to miss. The host was a bit rude. The shower had only half a door and really needed a curtain, because water ended up everywhere.

Free parking and a good location were the upsides. The bed was awful, the room looked outdated, and the walls were quite thin. I can’t comment on the service since we didn’t book breakfast.

I’d had a room booked since November, and I’ve travelled to Ireland many times without ever needing to cancel at the last minute. My flight was on time the day before I was due to arrive, but on departure day it was cancelled because of storm eowyn. I contacted Ardree House straight away to ask if they could waive the cancellation fee, and said I’d rebook once I had a new flight date. They charged me a fee anyway, so I don’t recommend them. It wasn’t my fault I had to cancel, it was the weather. I’m sad because I was going to Ireland for my parent’s birthday, and after losing the flight I lost money as well.

The staff were especially kind and made sure we had everything we needed. My partner and I found the place clean, warm, and homely from the moment we arrived, with a real home away from home feel. The room was spotless, the bed comfortable, and the decor tasteful and welcoming. You could tell the staff took care in keeping everything up. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a cosy, welcoming BNB. Thank you!
