Killarney Court Hotel

The food was tasty and good value, and the staff were lovely and helpful. It's about a 15-minute walk into the town centre. But our room stayed absolutely freezing for the whole visit. I called reception and was told they'd turn up the heat, but the radiator never warmed up.

Eamonn at the bar was the exception to the rather matter-of-fact staff, who were pleasant enough but not especially friendly. The exterior also didn't make a great impression, though parking was good. We won't be back. There are some basics that need attention: the bedroom carpet was heavily stained, and the toilet seat and shower door were broken. Maintenance did come and fix those, to their credit. The hotel feels like a three-star place that badly needs refurbishment, and the breakfast room was cold, with old marked tables and little character. We'd called ahead about allergens and intolerances, but there wasn't much variety offered. Breakfast is buffet style, with guests making their own drinks and toast. Also, they charge you when you arrive, and food and drinks at the hotel are paid for separately rather than added to your card.

The service was great, and both the two-course dinner and the buffet breakfast the next morning were delicious. We got a lovely gift pack in the room when we arrived. We stayed in November on the couples package, which was amazing value. I'd definitely stay again.

The room was clean and spacious, though I didn't find the pillows very comfortable. It's only a few minutes' drive from the main town and tourist attractions. We booked the two-night deal at €140 pp, including B&B both mornings, a main course one evening, and a welcome gift with chocolates. Breakfast had a great choice on both days. The included dinner looked so good that we upgraded to three courses, and the food was delicious. Service was attentive and friendly, from breakfast through to reception. We'll definitely be back.
