The Dunloe Hotel & Gardens

It was such a pity we only had one night here. On arrival, we found a complimentary room upgrade, a personalised note and a little gift waiting for us. Dinner was delicious and featured lots of local fare, and breakfast was very good with plenty of local produce too. Every interaction with the staff was a pleasure, and they seemed willing to go to any lengths to help and serve. I'll be eagerly waiting for the hotel's new reincarnation in two years and will definitely return soon after it opens.

The room setup was a favourite for my wife and me: our three kids each had a twin bed in their own room, with no hallway or balcony access. They could only get in through a door from our room, where we had a king bed. Both rooms had their own full bathroom, which made getting everyone ready much easier. The hotel was family friendly in lots of other ways too, with free pony rides, little fairy doors hidden around the grounds, and a great playground with a zip line. Dinner and breakfast at the restaurant were outstanding, and the concierge was very helpful with our daily tours. One of our favourite hotels from our Ireland trip. We'd visit the Dunloe Hotel again when we're back.

We've been coming regularly for the last 10 years, and this is still our favourite hotel. It's starting to feel tired, though it's still lovely, especially the high ceilings and the relaxing lobby. We were told it's closing at the end of September for a major refurbishment lasting 18 months to 2 years. Looking forward to seeing it reopen. 👍

The grounds are beautiful, the setting is stunning, and the service was superb. We stayed here on a recent trip around Ireland, and it was easily our favourite hotel. Only wish we'd booked more nights. We'd happily come back and highly recommend it.
