Killarney Heights Hotel

We stayed for music and another drink after dinner, which capped off a great anniversary night. We started early with cocktails at the bar, and I’d recommend the passion fruit martini. Shauna looked after us at dinner and was fantastic, really friendly and attentive, with a few laughs along the way. The vegan burger, pad thai, and eton mess were lovely, filling, and reasonably priced. Fantastic service.

The new rooms feel fresh and are so comfortable, and all the staff were excellent, welcoming, and professional. It’s a fantastic hotel in a perfect location, with mountain views while you eat.

The room had a visible bed bug infestation. I slept in the bed with my four-month-old, and we’re both covered in bites. Mark the manager provided fantastic service and was amazing, but that doesn’t undo having to dispose of our things, pay to have the car steam-cleaned, or the discomfort our baby is now in from the welts. We had to cut the trip short and skip the other hotels we’d planned to visit because it was Friday night of a long weekend and we didn’t want to spread the bugs. I hadn’t planned to write a review, but I sent this feedback through the post-stay survey and got no acknowledgement, even a week later. Really disappointed overall.

We had a lovely tea on the patio and dinner, and the food was tasty and nicely served by the pleasant staff. The hotel room was large and clean, with all the little things you need, like a kettle, hair dryer, and iron. There’s also a large car park.
