Parkavon Hotel

The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was excellent. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the Town centre. We enjoyed our stay in this beautifully appointed hotel, which also has a pool, sauna and spa.

The hotel was clean, the staff friendly and the rooms a good size. Our family room faced the car park, though, and had no net curtains. People walking by could look straight in. Not ideal if you want some sunlight while getting changed.

We could only book the pool for one hour, which left the kids really disappointed. The food was awful too: I ordered medium steak and it arrived very rare, the fries were raw, and the fresh vegetables were just three thin slices of carrot with a bowl of sweet corn.

The one staff member we saw was helpful, but she was constantly rushing around on her own. The hotel itself felt very dated: our room was in poor shape, there was no air conditioning, fridge or safe, and cold air came through the badly sealed windows even when they were shut. The breakfast area had no heating, and the lobby always smelled of cigarettes. We were given just one towel for three people. This place needs a lot of updating. Worst hotel I've stayed in.
