The K Kinsale

The WiFi was my one real frustration. The signal kept dropping for most of the evening, which was annoying. Apart from that, I had a lovely stay and would happily stay again. This isn't a five star hotel, but they go above and beyond what most places I've stayed in do. After driving down from Belfast, I was warmly greeted by the pleasant owners, who know the area and gave me ideas for places to go. The room was fantastic, clean and warm, with a fridge, herbal tea, regular tea and coffee, and even chocolate powder for hot chocolate. The shower had good pressure, not too much, and the location was handy for most places.

Melissa was so warm and helpful when we arrived, and the place is stunning. Our gorgeous room was clean and incredibly comfortable. I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. James sent us off the next day with a lovely smile. They’re the kindest people, and the doggy was the cutest addition and made my day!

There are lots of cafés a short walk away, since breakfast wasn't served during my visit. Melissa made sure I had plenty to start the morning, with coffee, Irish tea, hot chocolate, herbal teas, and even chocolate bars in the room. The house is close to shops and cafés, though it sits on a narrow two-way street where parking can be tricky. Plan ahead for check-in so you're not rushing with luggage if the lot is full. I stayed in the JM Synge Room, which felt just right for one person or a couple. It had thoughtful touches like a fan for warmer evenings, an electric blanket for cooler nights, and what I needed for a comfortable stay. I slept really well, even though I was only there one night. I’ve never been welcomed with such genuine warmth and enthusiasm. That meant a lot on a work trip when I was tired and low on energy. This place feels like a gem in a town as popular with visitors as Kinsale. Melissa’s experience in the service industry shows from the first hello, and she made me feel comfortable and well looked after. Aside from the parking detail, everything was excellent. We only came to Kinsale for the day, but ended up staying overnight and found this place with just one room left. What a great find: it was beautiful and so well kept, with massive beds and fantastic, warm service. Couldn’t ask for better. Top tip, book directly with them for a better deal!
