The Lemon Leaf Café Bar and Townhouse

We sat out in the little patio, and the service was great. The breakfast hash, though, really wasn’t for me. Everything was soggy and mashed together, with far too much food crammed onto the toast. It looked unappetising and wasn’t enjoyable to eat. I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I think the kitchen should hear this feedback.

The food was great, though expensive, and once we were seated we had a lovely experience. Waiting was the rough part. My wife Michelle and I were behind a group of five, and while they took a long time to get seated, we could see an empty table for two. I felt like my dog, Michelle, when I tell her to sit with a treat in my hand. We were practically slobbering, as she tends to do. After the group finally sat down, we got the very table we’d been eyeing. One other thing, those hot pans are an accident waiting to happen. I singed my finger a few times trying to cut my sausages. There’s no benefit to serving a full Irish on such a hot, lipped plate.

Everyone was delighted with breakfast and the smoothies, and the coffee was delicious. The staff were friendly, and the service was excellent. If you're in Kinsale and skip this place, you're missing out. ❤️

The location is great, and probably what you’re paying for. The rooms are small because of where it is, but they’re very clean and well appointed. Friendly staff, too. I wasn’t keen on breakfast: the coffee wasn’t good, and the ingredients overall weren’t very tasty. Still, it’s convenient and popular, so maybe it’s just me. I’d stay again.
