Kilmurry Lodge Hotel

Ellen at reception was especially helpful and welcoming, and I never felt awkward asking staff for help. The service was the main reason I’d come back. Even with the place busy and another function going on, staff around the building helped guide guests, so by the time we checked in the crowd had mostly cleared. They were well mannered, easy to talk to and efficient. Dinner was good. The chicken curry was lovely, and the ladies enjoyed their chicken Cesar salads. Staff timed their visits well and kept interruptions to a minimum. Breakfast was good too, with plenty of enjoyable hot food and more choices than I’ve seen at some higher-rated hotels. Nothing especially different, but it had what you needed. The coffee machine had most options, though not all. We stayed one night as two guests. The room was a normal size, warm, and the bed was comfortable, so we slept well. The bathroom was okay, but the hot sink tap had so much pressure that water splashed over the counter and onto the floor. The TV wasn’t set up, so I had to scan for channels myself. The coffee machine in the room was a nice extra, and basic soap and shower wash were provided. There was an ironing board too. The wardrobe looked aged and out of place beside the rest of the nice room. The room could get very warm, but it was good that the radiator was adjustable and the windows could open partly or fully. There are water fountains along the halls and a vending machine with basic supplies, both nice touches. The location is handy, with a bus stop just outside, two minutes from the motorway, and Lidl and Castletroy Shopping center nearby. I’d take off a star for the bathroom tap and wardrobe. I’d also take one off for the location because walking around at night near the students bar felt a bit odd with so many younger people about. Otherwise it’s well located, and a taxi from town should be cheap enough if you’re out late.

The food and drinks at the restaurant were so good, and the staff were outstanding. It’s a beautiful, quaint lodge on the outskirts of Limerick, Ireland, with clean, well-kept rooms. My only complaint was the flat, hard pillows. Loved it!

I had a fantastic medium-cooked sirloin steak in the bar, and the service was wonderful. The staff were very friendly, and reception kindly arranged a taxi when traffic nearly made me late for a conference dinner. I stayed two nights at the Kilmurry Lodge hotel on the 25th & 26th of September for a conference. The newly refurbished accommodation really impressed me. I hadn’t expected a kitchenette, lounge area, lovely en-suite and firm, comfortable bed. I’d happily recommend it and will definitely return. Thank you.

I was on a recent business trip and found the location excellent, close to Limerick city center. Service at Nelligans restaurant was exceptional, and the hotel staff were helpful and friendly. I’d recommend it and stay again.
