The Old Quarter Townhouse

A cozy little place right in the heart of Limerick, with a nice pub and restaurant downstairs. The staff were hospitable, and the beds were comfortable, though the rooms were just okay and had no fridge. Breakfast was the usual continental, British Isles or Irish sort of spread, with quite a lot of brown food and very few greens or fruits.

Great value at 130, right in the heart ❤️ of the city. This is a really lovely city-centre hotel, with a good vibe around the location and very friendly staff. The room and bathroom were modern. I'll definitely stay here again soon 😁👍

I couldn't sleep because the small room was unbearably hot, with no ventilation. The bathroom light didn't work, and a chipped tile at the end of the shower had a sharp edge. I could have cut my foot if I hadn't noticed it. When I mentioned the heat at checkout, the reception staff didn't seem helpful or even very polite. I paid just under €200 for one night, and I'm deeply disappointed. I would never stay here again.

The rooms were clean and tidy, but I wouldn't recommend staying at this price. In the old building, the only ventilation was through small windows, which let in all the street noise. The top-floor rooms were super warm and humid, even with cloudy weather around 18°C, so try to avoid them if you can. Around 3AM, seagulls sleeping on the roof of the church next door started making terrible noise. I had to close the only window, which cut off all ventilation. I can only imagine how loud the bar or clubbing gets on weekends. At half the price, I'd recommend it, but not at this rate.
