Wayside B&B

The bed warmer was amazing after a day hiking in Killarney, and I slept better here than anywhere else during my time in Ireland. Wayside was a fantastic experience, with lovely hosts. Theresa was incredibly welcoming and full of useful ideas for things to do in the park. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was excellent, away from Killarney's chaos but within walking distance of the Gap.

We stayed last night, 25th Aug. The couple were so welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. The place was very comfortable and clean, and breakfast was beautiful. Definitely recommend this B&B.

Breakfast was delicious, and our hosts were very attentive. They seemed sweet and well intentioned, but this wasn't a comfortable stay for us. One of the rooms has a shower inside it, with only a curtain between it and the beds. There's a shared bathroom with a shower for the three rooms, and our other room had its own shower, but don't book the room with two twin beds if you want an ensuite bathroom. The hosts didn't keep the central heating on overnight; with temperatures reaching 7C/45F, it got uncomfortable. The host said she'd forgotten to give us electric blankets, which probably would have helped. The rooms were small, lacked amenities or luxuries, and weren't the cleanest: the carpet felt a bit dirty underfoot and there was a spider in the shower. They don't take card payments, so bring cash.
