We stayed in a Boyne Valley Suite and can’t wait to come back. Our room was stunning, with a private deck and our own hot tub. It was the perfect way to finish the day, and start the next morning too. Lunch in the Spa was delicious, and the spa itself was beautiful, with gorgeous countryside views. The whole visit felt like a treat, and the staff were warm, welcoming and clearly well trained.

The lunch was a letdown compared with what Bellinter used to offer. We used to have a proper meal in the restaurant after a treatment. This time there were just two limited options, and neither was very tasty. I’d regularly gone to Bellinter Spa with my mum for massages, time in the hot tub and lunch. We loved those visits, and the package deals felt good value. This past Christmas I bought her the massage and lunch package again, looking forward to the renovated thermal area and spa. The facilities did need updating, and the price had gone up a lot, but I assumed that was for an improved experience. Mum said the massage was lovely, but then learned that the thermal suite now needs a separate booking and extra payment. I found that disappointing and unnecessarily restrictive. Even the most prestigious spas in Ireland include thermal suite access with a massage, so this didn’t feel like good value at the higher prices. Bellinter seems to be aiming for a more premium, expensive experience, but the service and inclusions don’t match what they charge. It’s a shame, because it used to feel like a special treat and somewhere we loved returning to. Now it just feels like a rip off.

The new thermal area at Bellinter House felt like a peaceful oasis. It’s beautifully designed, with a soothing atmosphere and a stunning location. Towels, slippers and lovely robes were all provided, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I also had a light lunch in the café beside the spa, which rounded out a lovely visit. It would be a great place for a personal treat, a couples’ escape or a relaxing get-together with friends. Highly recommend.

We’ve stayed in several rooms at Bellinter House, and this time tried a junior suite for the first time. It was a last-minute decision, and unfortunately we didn’t get to use the jacuzzi. Maybe next time. The rooms are spacious and great, and the food at the Preston restaurant is wonderful. It’s easily our favourite getaway. The staff are absolutely lovely, and we’re hoping to explore the spa facilities on a future stay.

Dinner at Prestons was superb, and the service was excellent. Drinks took a little while to arrive at the bar that evening, but they were top quality, and the service was professional and friendly. Breakfast the next morning was top quality too, with artisan products included in the full Irish. My wife and I live locally and booked a night away for our anniversary. Our standard double in the east wing had an excellent bed, a lovely bathroom, and tea, coffee and biscuits. We spent two hours in the thermal area, which is beautifully landscaped, with several outdoor pools and baths as well as three saunas. We’d stayed here under the previous owners, and the work on the revamped area is a big upgrade. We’ll definitely stay again, and will seriously consider the restaurant for family occasions. Well done to everyone involved in the Bellinter revamp. It’s a great addition to the area.
